1. Set term limits on judges. What is is good for the house and the senate, should be good for the judges. 8 consecutive years maximum.
2. Make judicial complaints available to the public.
3. Make it easier for a judge to appear on the ballot for a merit/retention vote. Right now it requires 10% of votes in the previous general election. 1000 signatures should be enough to have the judge appear on the ballot. If 1000 people have complaints against a judge, we the people should be able to decide if they are doing a good job or not.
4. Start impeaching some of the worst offender judges. We already have a few names in the list. The Florida congress has the power to do this, as per the Florida Constitution.
5. The mere fact that so many of us will run under the umbrella of the protection of the children, the elderly and the families will give us access to the public arena where these issues need to appear before. The mainstream media will not have any other choice but to pay attention to our voice.
6. An added benefit would be that we would be forcing many of these Senators and Representatives to actually run a campaign. Last year, I met a State Senator, Mr. Garcia at the ballots, who was actually supporting another candidate who told me that he was not even in the ballots because no one had signed to run against him. He actually believed that this was wrong, and that the public should have the opportunity to decide if he was doing a good job or not.

If someone complains about me as a doctor, it goes to the health department, who investigates the complain and takes measures accordingly, why should it be any different with attorneys? I have several well-documented complaints against corrupt attorneys, but they have all been dismissed by the Florida Bar. So one of the the main problems in our government today is that “the fox is guarding the hen house.” To solve this problem, we must remove attorneys from Congress, and leave them where they belong, in the judicial system.
